This African Abstract Batik Pillow Cover with tribal designs, is handcrafted in Zimbabwe. Starting with cinnamon brown, the artist uses colors of rose, orange, white, and green to complete the tribal symbols and continues on the back with cinnamon and beige foliage. There is an opening in the back for easy placement of a pillow insert.

This unique, traditional tribal pillow was made by and signed by the artist, who uses the traditional Sadza porridge, instead of wax, in making these batiks. As this item is made by an individual artist and not a group given a pattern to make, each work of art is unique. More of his work is shown in this shop in larger wall hangings and tablecloths.

As with many works of art in this shop, this is an unused vintage item, which I call vintage new.
