Gordon House (1933-2004) was an important English graphic designer and artist.

He was accomplished in both arenas. With design he was credited with helping British galleries establish a consistent and formal way of presenting their artists and communicating as established businesses. He set new standards for catalogues, exhibition posters and other forms of advertising. Many English artists collaborated with him for their exhibitions. 

House also designed for other creative realms including album covers for the Beatles and Paul McCarthy's Wings. 

As an artist he was successful for his graphic, vaguely futuristic abstractions that flirt with both Op art and hard-edge abstraction. Similar to Josef Albers and Frank Stella, House would embrace a motif and that realize it in different color combinations.

Gordon House is well represented in English institutions. The Tate, for example, holds over 100 examples of his work.
